January 16 / 17 How the Declarer / Defender wins Tricks A good defender is able to imagine what the declarer will do.  In this session we will imagine ourselves as declarer, and see how to win tricks.
January 23 / 24 Opening Leads By listening to the auction, from both the opponents and from partner you may receive valuable information to select the opening lead. Also the difference between leading against NT and suit contracts.
January 30 / 31 Third Hand Play Partner has made the opening lead and now you must think about the information and what you play here may make or break the contract.
February 6 / 7 Second Hand Play The maxim "second hand low" has some merit, but you must understand why and how to apply it.
February 13 / 14 The Defensive Plan Just like declarer you must take a moment to evaluate the hand and see where your side might win some tricks - and then put the plan into action.
February 20 / 21 Signaling There is more to the art of signaling effectively than you think.  What do you want to tell partner?  How will it effect the outcome of the contract.
February 27 / 28 Defensive Trumps How the defenders take advantage of the trump suit, promotion, length can work for the defense as well as for the declarer.
March 5 / 6 Recognizing Dummy Types A long suit in dummy can be a threat, so take your tricks, or maybe prevent declarer from using it, can prevent declarer from setting up a suit or from getting extra ruffs in dummy? 
March 12 / 13 Trump Leads A largely overlooked topic - the old maxim "When in doubt, lead trump" but in truth it is "when it is right, lead trump". . learn when it is right.
March 19 / 20 Tricks, Points, & Distribution The essence of a good defender is the ability to count.  Counting tricks, counting points, and counting distribution.
March 26 / 27 Discarding Too many contract are made because the defenders discard incorrectly - learn how to think about what to discard.
April 2 / 3 Avoid Helping the Declarer Taking a tricks too soon or even too late may be helpful for declarer, plus dozens of other ways the defenders inadvertently help the declarer to win tricks they do not deserve to win.
