TIP OF THE WEEK:   One of the best ways to become a better bidder and most definitely a better defender is to learn how to be a good declarer.  Understanding how to develop tricks is something all players should strive for.  Good declarers make good defenders - they understand the cards.

KUDOS & CONGRATULATIONS: Kudos to everyone who participated in the Unit STaC.  We had many winners and congratulations to you all. But can you believe this -- Jill McCormick and Gerardo Malazdrewicz had a 69.77 % game on Wednesday evening - coming second to a 72.83%er.  Then on Friday Jill McCormick and Marcia Shaw had a 72.02% game coming second to a 72.62%er!! Hardly fair!
Congratulations to our 2-session Team Game winners: Steve Anderson, Brian Arsenault, Jim Mathers & Jill McCormick!

        S K Q 9 7 3
        H 5
        D 3
        C A Q J 9 7 5

Solution to Last Week's Quiz:    Your RHO opens the bidding with 1-H and you make a Take-out Double.  Your LHO passes and partner bids 1S.  NOW your RHO rebids 2-H!  What is your call?
Here is your hand:
        S K 10 9 3
        H 4
        D K Q 8 2
        C K 9 6 2

PASS!!!  You have described this 11 HCP hand (with the singleton 14 playing points).  Partner was FORCED to bid originally and may have ZERO points. Let partner decide on any future action!! If you bid MORE you must hold MORE, you have already discribe this hand.  Leave this decision to partner!

See you at the tables,
